Explain the production floor from approved viewpoints

Last updated:

For plant hosts, customer teams, and operational colleagues

Invite remote customers or colleagues into a live discussion of the production environment without making every visit a travel project. An authorized host shares approved panoramic viewpoints while guests look around independently. Plan what may be shown, where the host can stop safely, and which technical questions need separate documentation or checks.

30 trial participant-minutes. No credit card required to start.

CallPano setup with an Insta360 camera, a panoramic video meeting, AR glasses, and a VR headset

One live environment. Independent views. Each participant chooses where to look, without changing anyone else’s view.

The surroundings explain a process, but can also expose too much

A fixed camera may hide how work areas connect, yet a panorama can reveal neighboring lines, customer materials, screens, or restricted equipment. A useful factory tour needs a reviewed route and deliberate stopping points. The host should explain approved process context without treating everything captured by the camera as cleared for external viewing.

Explain visible process relationships

Discuss how approved work areas connect from the camera’s actual position, while making clear what the tour does not show.

Let specialists choose a direction

Different guests can examine the surrounding view independently while remaining in the same conversation with the plant host.

Prepare buyers, partners, and visiting reviewers

Use an approved live tour to orient buyers or partners and help plan a later auditor visit, not to establish compliance. Use guest links and, where appropriate, password-protected rooms. Review suitability before sharing sensitive operations.

Separate tours from technical verification

Provide specifications, measurements, quality records, or a formal site review through the appropriate process rather than inferring them from video.

The Difference

Rehearse in operating conditions

Use a compatible Insta360 X4 or X5 setup that supplies full equirectangular camera output to the browser, not a cropped or reframed flat feed. Verify firmware, USB mode, computer, browser, audio, and connection quality before the visit. Test floor noise, lighting, connectivity, and the full view from each approved stop. Follow the plant’s access, equipment, and safety rules, including any restrictions on cameras or electronics. Do not step into traffic or machinery zones to answer a remote request. A tour is not a quality audit, machinery inspection, or proof of production capacity. Adapt the remote site checklist and consult the Security overview before sharing sensitive material.

Quick Start

From room to live 360° in three steps

  1. 1

    Create a Room

Create your host account and set up a room from the dashboard. Schedule your meeting if you want to arrange it in advance.

  2. 2

    Share the Link

Send the invitation to your participants. Guests use a supported browser without a CallPano account or app download. Test permissions and room access before the session.

  3. 3

    Go Live in 360°

Test an Insta360 X4 or X5 through a compatible webcam mode that supplies full panoramic output, not just a flat webcam feed. Camera firmware, computer, and browser compatibility matter. Once the panorama is working, guests can look around independently.

Frequently asked questions

How do we avoid showing confidential production details?

Review the entire panorama from every stop, not just the host’s forward view. Obtain internal approval, exclude sensitive areas and screens, and decide whether live sharing is appropriate before inviting guests.

Does a remote factory tour count as a quality audit?

No. It provides live context for discussion, not audit certification, process validation, or proof of quality. Follow the relevant audit and verification procedures separately.

Can the host walk next to operating equipment?

The host must follow plant access and safety rules and any camera or electronics restrictions. Choose approved safe stops and do not enter traffic or machinery zones to improve a remote view.

What if machinery noise makes conversation difficult?

Test during operating conditions. Use permitted audio equipment and approved quieter stopping points where appropriate. If guests cannot hear reliably, arrange another suitable discussion rather than assuming the tour is usable.

Can guests move to another production line themselves?

No. They can rotate and zoom within the camera’s current live panorama. Only the authorized host can move the camera to another approved physical viewpoint.

Approve the route before inviting the customer

Check every viewing direction, test audio on the floor, and agree on questions that need separate technical follow-up.
