Practical guides for a live panoramic call

Last updated:

For hosts preparing a camera, a route, or a guest device

A useful panoramic conversation starts before the invitation goes out. Check the camera output, decide what the visit needs to answer, and test how guests will join. These guides cover the separate jobs of setting up a source, trying optional headset viewing, and preparing property or site walkthroughs.

30 trial participant-minutes. No credit card required to start.

CallPano setup with an Insta360 camera, a panoramic video meeting, AR glasses, and a VR headset

One live environment. Independent views. Each participant chooses where to look, without changing anyone else’s view.

A working link does not mean the visit is ready

You can open a room and still discover that the camera sends a flat image, the guest cannot use immersive viewing, or the connection drops halfway down a corridor. Prepare the relevant parts separately, then run a short rehearsal with the actual people, devices, and route before relying on the call.

Check your camera source

Use the Insta360 X5 setup guide to check official instructions, browser selection, and full panoramic output.

Try optional headset viewing

Follow joining through Meta Quest Browser to separate ordinary browser access from optional WebXR support.

Prepare a property visit

Work through the live property tour checklist to organize access, privacy, questions, and the route.

Plan a remote site discussion

Use the remote site inspection checklist to agree on scope, safe viewpoints, and follow-up checks.

The Difference

Choose the guide for the part you control

Hosts should first establish a usable panoramic camera source; guests should test their browser and audio. A route-based visit also needs permission, safe access, and reception along the way. For definitions rather than procedures, read the glossary. The guides do not promise universal camera compatibility, native headset apps, measured inspection, or replacement of required on-site procedures.

Quick Start

From room to live 360° in three steps

  1. 1

    Create a Room

Create your host account and set up a room from the dashboard. Schedule your meeting if you want to arrange it in advance.

  2. 2

    Share the Link

Send the invitation to your participants. Guests use a supported browser without a CallPano account or app download. Test permissions and room access before the session.

  3. 3

    Go Live in 360°

Test an Insta360 X4 or X5 through a compatible webcam mode that supplies full panoramic output, not just a flat webcam feed. Camera firmware, computer, and browser compatibility matter. Once the panorama is working, guests can look around independently.

Frequently asked questions

Which guide should a new host use first?

Start with the X5 setup guide if you are testing that camera. Confirm full equirectangular output before planning around panoramic viewing, then choose the property or site checklist.

Do guests need to complete the camera guide?

Not to view another participant’s panorama. Guests need a supported browser, working audio, and the invitation. Only someone publishing a panoramic source needs the compatible camera setup.

Is the Quest guide required for a 360° call?

No. Guests can pan and zoom on a normal screen. Optional headset viewing depends on the browser and device; CallPano has no native Quest app.

Do these checklists replace an inspection procedure?

No. They prepare a live visual discussion. Keep measurements, tests, safety decisions, formal acceptance, and required inspections in the appropriate separate workflow.

Where can I check an unfamiliar technical term?

Use the glossary for equirectangular video, webcam mode, WebRTC, immersive conferencing, and live virtual tours.

Rehearse the visit before the real conversation

Start with the camera guide, then test one guest and the actual route before inviting the wider group.
